We would like to pay our respect and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our studies take place, and also pay respect to Elders both past and present.
Welcome to our website, the teacher’s tool to Aboriginal connection to culture. Here you will find specific links to the Key Learning Areas (KLAs) of HSIE, Creative Arts and Science. Inside these areas are activities and information on how the concept of Aboriginal culture can be embedded within every classroom. These activities are aimed for the learning of Stage 3 (Year 5 & 6 students) but can be adjusted to suit all Stages.
To find the activities designed to address each of the chosen KLAs, click on the tabs at the top of this page.
When moving your cursor over the tabs, a dropdown menu will appear where you can access pages on teacher 'background information' and the 'teaching philosophy' behind the design of the activities.
The underpinning concept:
Australian Aboriginal culture varies throughout the continent, and people from different regions have different stories, languages, technologies and ways of expressing themselves through creative arts.
